A freshwater cultured pearl, is a result of the process by which a pearl farmer, induces pearl formation by inserting a substance into the mollusk and then “cultivates” the pearl. Cultured pearls are natural pearls, they are not synthetic, the natural process is simply aided by a pearl farmer.
